Creativity

If you’re contemplating graphic designing as a career, you must be of an artistic bent of mind. You need to be able to draw well and figure out which color combinations work for a particular project and which don’t. Creativity is a big part, and sometimes, the only part of graphic designing and there is no substitute for it.
Technical IQ
Next in line comes technical skill. You have to know your way around the computer and not just that, you need to be totally comfortable with programs like Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Flash to name a few. After all, these are the programs you will be using on a daily basis while you are working. Gone are the days when a pencil and paper were all you needed to become a successful graphic designer, being computer savvy is a big part of graphic designing, moreover, as technology advances, you need to be able to adapt quickly too!
