It is also very adapt to its surroundings and can find things easily when it must. The creature is seen as an omen but not a good one. It is seen as a bad omen in which nothing pleasant could come from it. Through all the bad things that it can be seen as through the many tales that it is the subject of, it is nonetheless seen and known as a survivor. It is seen in some tribes as a loathsome creature that could and has repressed the creative energies of the people. Although its positive aspects are that it is sly and quick, it is also very destructive. Through these bad qualities, the Native American people still cannot deny the fact that they do admire the creature for its resilient ways. Many of the craftsmen will use their silver smith techniques to make a pendant out of the creature that is so sly and quick to put on a chain; donning it about their neck or whatever else piece of jewelry they choose to construct. Some of the artists of the Native American Jewelry of coyote even have the creature smiling. Is that a smile of deception or happiness? No one could truly know what goes on in the trickster’s mind, but it is entertaining to think about and wonder. After all, the coyote is a creature that many tales have been told and many pendants have been made after. Why shouldn’t we wonder what it is thinking?
