Native american indian jewelry

Native american indian jewelry
The pieces of Native American Indian Jewelry that is seen in the vast amount of pictures across the world wide web and other places differ slightly from piece to piece. The Navajo, Hopi, Cherokee, and Zuni tribes among so many others hand make each and every piece of jewelry that they craft for people to buy. The two main things that are used in the craft of such pieces are silver and turquoise. These two items have been passed down for generations. Most people that are looking to purchase Native American Indian Jewelry are looking for authentic pieces made by members of the tribe that live mainly on reservations. It is very dependable the type of jewelry that the Hopi, Navajo, and Zuni tribes made and can be easily distinguished when looking at a piece made from China. It is easier to break and much more frail than those made by experience jewelry makes and silversmiths from the aforementioned tribes. It brings a sense of pride to those who choose to wear the hand made jewelries made primarily by women, while the men usually excel in silversmith. I remember vividly celebrating my Cherokee heritage when I dressed and explained our people in elementary school. The other students thought it a bit on the strange side when I wore feathers in my hair with a large turquoise gem about my neck with Native American clothes. The earrings and feathers I wore as my jewelry pieces made my heart swim with pride. In my humble opinion, I would say the majority of the serious buyers in the United States of American would much rather have a hand crafted necklace, bracelet, leather bag, dream chaser, and so many other wonderful artwork that the tribes make here in our own land and would rather buy them here than from a foreign country as China. Most, if not all, of the jewelry in the southwest and from other tribes such as the Cherokee, are completely hand made and not sent through a machine. As they say, you get what you pay for and with authentic jewelry by the tribes that reside in the Southwestern United States you are assured to get the very best. They make sure that each color of the stone and the material they use compliment very well and you will look absolutely ravishing at the event you choose to attend while wearing what a person made in their creative work. The Zuni tribe has to be mentioned notably for their form in making each art stand out so brilliantly.

Seductive Amber

This is my absolute favorite ring-I’ve managed to keep it for 5 years *knock on wood* because I always seem to lose jewelry (so I don’t buy much).

I got this at the French Market in New Orleans, and I fell in love with it the moment I saw it amongst the tons of other amber rings there.

Featured in a news article on handcrafted stones and jewelry on deviantart.

Check out that article if you love different gems, stones and rings. There are some beautiful ones there!
